About Goodman Mfg.
A subsidiary of the most comprehensive HVAC manufacturer in the world, (the Daikin Group), Goodman Manufacturing was founded in 1975 by Harold Goodman, who sold HVAC systems at the time. Although he began with manufacturing plastic blade registers and flexible air ducts, Goodman hoped to one day be able to sell affordable HVAC equipment to families throughout the world. He was able to reach that goal in 1982 when his company, Goodman Manufacturing, bought Janitrol, an HVAC company.
Today, Goodman Manufacturing markets residential A/C systems, gas furnaces, heat pumps, and air handlers in addition to other HVAC-related equipment. In hopes of increasing its reach into the HVAC market, in 2018 Goodman acquired a real estate technology company. Recently, Goodman Manufacturing’s parent company, Daikin, constructed a brand new state-of-the-art facility close to Houston, Texas. In October of 2016, the first Goodman air conditioning systems and gas furnaces came off the line at the new facility. The entire project was $400 million and was completed in 2017. This consolidated all the Goodman Manufacturing teams bringing their engineering, manufacturing, logistics, and customer support centers to one location.
